Spitfire in Service
Status of the Book Project - November 2007
Work with the book has been progressing rather slowly during the last two months. It belongs to my working style that writing a material of this magnitude not only consumes a lot of time but requires unrestricted attention; working intensively with the development of this site, my book writing has temporarily lost momentum; fortunately, I haven't lost any interest in completing it, so please bear with me.
Also, I decided to do three things with the completed portions of the manuscript:
- I have received friendly but very professional help in reviewing the manuscript. Right now, the initial chapter of the book is receiving its final review.
- I am still contemplating if the book should be released online, in print, or both; I will be consulting a few publishers to check their interest.
- I have decided to review and partially re-write chapters for 1939, 1940 and 1941. This is mainly to bring these chapters in par with newer parts of the text.
