Tamiya Spitfire Mk. I
I just finished this Tamiya 1/48 Spitfire Mk. I a few weeks ago. This aircraft was flown by Squadron Leader Brian Lane of No. 19 Squadron at Fowlmere in September of 1940. It was also flown by No 19 Squadron ace Flt Lt Walter Lawson and the aircraft is credited with downing two Bf-110's and an He 111 during the Battle of Britain. This plane stood out from other Battle of Britain Spitfires due to its yellow spinner which was supposedly a result of the aircraft's former duties at an Operational Training Unit.
